- 2 to 5 players
- Four rules to choose from
- Low hand? "Yaniv!"
The video
The video is narrated and captioned in Hebrew; the transcript below is in English.
Yaniv
Yaniv inside the room, for 2 to 5 players: you lower your hand total and call "Yaniv!" when it is low enough. But if someone has the same total or lower, it is an Asaf, and the caller is punished.
How to start
- In a game room: tap "New table", choose Yaniv and invite up to four players from the room. In a regular room, whoever manages the game starts it.
- Whoever opens the game picks four rules (details below). The choice is visible to everyone and does not change during the game.
- Each invited player taps "I'll play" — they have 60 seconds. The server draws the seating order and who starts.
How to play
- 54 cards, including 2 jokers. Ace = 1, 2 to 10 by their number, jack, queen and king = 10, joker = 0. Each player gets 5 cards.
- On your turn, discard a single card, 2 to 4 cards of the same value, or a run of 3 or more cards of the same suit — and take a card from the deck or from the previous player's discard.
- Is your hand total at or below the chosen threshold? You can call "Yaniv!".
- A successful Yaniv: the caller gets 0, and the others add their hand total to their score. Asaf: the caller gets their total plus the penalty, and whoever made the Asaf gets 0.
- Whoever goes over the elimination total is out (exactly at the total — still in the game).
How the game ends
| One player is left | The last player left wins |
|---|---|
| All the remaining players are eliminated together | The lowest score wins; a tie is a draw |
| Time runs out on the turn (one minute) | The game ends, and the other players win |
| "Leave the game" in the middle | Forfeit — the other players win |
What you choose at the start
| Calling "Yaniv" at (or less) | 7, 5 or 3. Default: 7. |
|---|---|
| "Asaf" penalty | 30, 25 or 20 points. Default: 30. |
| Out above | 200, 150 or 100. Default: 200. |
| Halving on a round total (50, 100, 150...) | "no" or "yes". Default: "no". When on, a score that is an exact multiple of 50 is halved. |
In the room
- At the end of each round, everyone's hands are revealed to everyone.
- In a game room: when the game ends you can tap "Another round" — the same game with the same players.
